Weight Training meets Classical Pilates for Ab & Lower Body Punch

Focus : 

Pick up your weights because today we are weight training that lower body on the Reformer. Combining resistance training with weight training, using controlled, mindful movement through each exercise to shape, sculpt and tone the glutes, hips, and thighs. Meanwhile working our standing balance and developing more strength in feet and ankles. The weights help to build lean muscle tone and bring even more definition to that tone. The resistance builds endurance into those muscles. And IT’S NOT JUST YOUR LOWER BODY – Be ready to alternate today between lower body and core!

Equipment Needed : 

Reformer, Reformer box, and a set of hand weights. A heavier set will increase the challenge as well as the benefit of building that lean muscle tone. This said, go with a weight that is appropriate to your level.

The Course of this Class :

Our class today is much different from other classes. You will see a repeat of sets more like in a weight training session in the gym. But, we will break it up with classical Pilates ab exercises in between. Our moves today are slow and focused on form. This is a great class to hone your form and deepen your practice. Simple exercises today that pack a lot of punch, meaning if you repeat these regularly and come back to this class you are going to see visible results!

Class Level : 

Intermediate level taught, but we encourage ALL levels to try this class. The exercises are not necessarily advanced, but they do require a good amount of balance and concentration, good alignment and knowledge of posture. A great class for Advanced and Beginner alike.

Goals : 

Change your actual muscle fibers by build leaner, more defined muscle tone deep into your structure. Reshape. Cinch in. Strengthen. Tighten. Lift. Improve alignment, posture and balance. Improve fitness level by way of the weight training. Deepen practice, concentration and mind-body awareness. Stronger abs, glutes, hips and thighs.
