The Better Back Workout for Best Posture & a Strong, Balanced Bod

Focus : 

In this back workout we target: upper back, shoulders, shoulder stabilizers, obliques (all an integral part of the core support system), triceps, spinal erectors, glutes, hamstrings, and the entire posterior chain. Use this workout if you need to improve your posture and balance your musculature front to back and all around. Few of us don’t need stronger backs! If you desire to see a significant, markable change in your posture, repeat this class regularly and you will!

Equipment Needed : 

Reformer and long box, nothing more.

The Course of this Class :

This back workout class progresses at a steady pace today. We warm it up with footwork and then move on to a kneeling ab series and glute series. Get ready to see plenty of planks and exercises like: Front Leg Pull, Table Top, Pulling Straps, Spine Twist, Thigh Stretch, Back bends, Grasshopper, Swan, thoracic rolls and plenty more. You’ll feel lots of arm work and oblique work, similar to other Arms & Abs workouts, but also lots of shoulder and spinal exercises really reinforcing that back chain strength. You’ll feel stronger, taller and more balanced at the end of this workout. We will also work back extension for a more bendable, supple, flexible spine in all directions.

Class Level : 

Intermediate – Advanced.

Goals : 

Significantly increase the strength of your posterior chain (back chain). Build stronger shoulders, particularly the shoulder stabilizers directly integrated into the obliques, connecting to our core strength all the way around the spine. See a marked difference in your upright posture both seated and standing. Feel more balanced between the musculature in the front and back of the body. Carry yourself more effortlessly upright. Improve oxygen flow and circulation to all vitals with a better, more supported posture.
